How do I know if I actually need a coach?
In life sometimes we get stuck doing the same things expecting a different result. If you ever find yourself feeling a lack of clarity on what you want in your life or what your next move might be, having a coach may be extremely helpful. Additionally, if you are thinking of changing jobs or find yourself in a new role, or perhaps you are in a new relationship (be it a new parent, marriage, partnership, business venture), then having an objective and experienced professional to help navigate these changes is the role of a coach in your life right now. Our belief is that a coach will help clarify your inner strengths, help you navigate your inner struggles, and provide clarity in your perspective of what you want and how to achieve them.
How soon can we get started?
We have an application process to fill out and an initial discovery session to sort through your goals and to provide to you more clarity around how we can partner up with you to achieve these goals. Currently, there is a waitlist for individual coaching sessions with Julia, but we have other coaches like Dr. Mat and others who may be able to support you on your journey.
How are you different from other coaches?
We believe in the importance of finding the right fit when it comes to your personal and professional development. If you value authenticity, embracing vulnerability, working through fears with support, and leaning into a process that may feel uncertain at times, we at the Insight Company are trained to sift through these waters with you and provide you the support you need to meet you right where you are at and take you where you want to go. We are former therapists turned coaches and have extensive experience working with leaders of all levels on mindset, leadership development, work/life balance, parenting, burnout, and emotional agility. Does hiring a coach signify weakness?
Absolutely not. In fact, this day in age… it’s frowned upon if you aren’t continually developing yourself and a person before you are a leader. Behind every great performer, leader, and/or athlete is a great supportive team and most often involves a dedicated coach for their personal and professional development. Now if you don’t think Tom Brady or Tiger Woods is weak to have a coach, then we should not think it is weak for us.
I’m feeling nervous about the process. Is this normal?
Yes. 100% natural to feel nervous. Every coach at The Insight Company has been through and is currently working with their own coach as well and in the beginning of every process, we all felt nervous just like you. We understand. How do you accept payment for 1:1 coaching?
We accept all forms of payment and we use Stripe to secure all of the financial transactions that occur over the internet. Stripe is trusted by companies like Amazon, Lyft, Airbnb, Shopify, just to name a few.
Where are you located and how will we speak on 1:1 coaching calls? Is Zoom coaching as effective as face-to-face coaching?
Every since the pandemic, we were forced into a virtual world. However, we were primiarly a virtual platform to begin with and found that Zoom or over the phone was just as… if not more effective. It’s not a question anymore if virtual is effective because we’ve all been forced into it… however, many of our clients prefer it because they can be anywhere in the world and have direct access to us.
What are your qualifications?
We are both trained therapists who turned coaches. Julia is Certified Daring Way Facilitator developed by Dr. Brene Brown. This method was developed to help people learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. Additionally, Julia was trained under the Gottman Method and facilitates workshops focusing on martial and parenting success. She has certifications under the Wiley & Son Everything DiSC profile along with the EQi2.0, emotional intelligence and leadership assessment. Dr. Mat received his doctorate in clinical psychology and a masters in sport psychology. Dr. Mat worked as a chief resident at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, CA and then went into academia working as a professor of sport and high performance psychology. Shortly after, Dr. Mat was recruited to work at NASA and serves as one of the agency’s lead Organization Development Advisors.
How does it work to sign up for an online training?
Our online trainings are one of a kind. We have both LIVE workshops that we facilitate from one of our expert facilitators along with on-demand trainings where you can watch or listen to developmental trainings on the go from a wide array of topics. Our LIVE workshops are an experience not to be missed because they are fun, engaging, and educational.
How will I access the training?
It all really depends on what it is you are interested in and what you have signed up for. For our LIVE workshops, you will receive an email from us with detailed information on how to sign into the class with your special zoom link invitation to use the day of the workshop. You will also receive an email with information on how to access materials and your workbook for the course (if the workbook is provided). For our on-demand training videos, you will receive immediate access to your own library of resources that you sign up for. You can always visit our website and login to go directly into your library and even save the web browser on your phone or computer for ease of access to your trainings.
How long do I have to complete the training?
Most of our LIVE workshops run about 2-hours in duration. We have tons of engagement and activities so the time really flies by. On-demand trainings vary in length and you will have complete access to all your purchased course as long as you are a member or for 1 year after the purchase of a single training course.
Are your trainings run on specific dates?
Please visit our schedule on our Training page to view when the upcoming LIVE workshop is. On-demand videos are available year round 24/7.
Can I interview you for our podcast/blog/community/book/event?
Yes. We do schedule interviews for podcast and events. Please email us email@example.com for inquires.
What kind of topics do you regularly speak about?
The address and speak on a vast range of topics. However, our speciality is on relationships (e.g., professional relationships, personal relationships, parenting, and the relationship with oneself). Dr. Mat is an expert in peak performance mindset and leadership, and Julia Oh specializes in burnout, emotional agility, and parenting.
I am part of an organization, can I hire you to work with our whole team?
Absolutely. We work regularly with companies of all sizes… from start-ups to large corporations. We have a tailored approach to our training and workshops that we deliver to meet our clients needs.
Do you offer in-person training for organizations?

One of our specialized organizaitonal trainings is a new leadership transition meeting. This process can help shorten the dip in performance that could occur as people get used to a new leader in place. It also helps to reduce misinformation, uncertainty, and helps to properly share expectations and needs with one another.
