One of the most profound truths I have discovered, after decades of work as a therapist and coach for hundreds of clients, is that there is nothing for you to change or fix. You are worthy and whole, just as you are. But you can learn skills to continue growing in areas you want to develop in.

Daring Way™ Program

As a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, I offer you the next best thing to working with Brené herself! Brené has spent decades studying the topics of courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. Whether you have read all her books, or are new to her work, you can benefit from our Daring Way™ program. It is one thing to read a book and another to have the support, accountability and insight from a trained coach and psychotherapist to really understand, practice and embody the teachings. This is what I offer.

In our Brené Brown’s Daring Way™ program you will be taken through a 1-month experience exploring one of Brené Brown’s three tracks of your choice – The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly or Rising Strong. You can also choose to do all three over a 3-month period should you choose. We would encourage you to pick the track which aligns most with what you need to learn in this moment.

The Gifts of Imperfection Pathway

Perfect for you if, like many of us, you’ve struggled with self-acceptance and the relationship you have with yourself. We’ll explore what our perceived flaws and imperfections have to teach us and how we can embrace ALL the parts of ourselves to live more wholehearted. Are there parts of yourself you struggle to accept?

The Rising Strong Pathway

Perfect for you if you have experienced a setback in life and would like to learn how to rise up and bounce back from it. In this phase, we go deep into our painful and uncomfortable moments, work through our emotions and hold ourselves accountable to get up and grow from the past as we move into the future. Do you have an experience that you don’t want to define your future?

The Daring Greatly Pathway

Perfect for you if there are things you yearn to do with your life, but you let fear get in your way. Inspired by the vulnerability hangover Brené experienced after having her now famous Ted Talk on the Power of Vulnerability, the book explores the idea of being ‘all in’ in your life- even if it’s scary. Where do you need to dare greatly with your life?

The Rising Strong Pathway

Some of the topics we’ll explore:

  • How understanding your value will help you light your way forward in the dark. What behaviors do you have which support and protect your values and what behaviors serve as red flags that you’ve walked away from your own light.
  • How to own our own stories we make up around our struggle, challenge our assumptions of what is true and re-write our endings.
  • How to cultivate curiosity around our emotions, where they stem from and what gets us emotionally hooked.
  • The unproductive ways we “manage” or discharge emotion when we are trying to avoid feeling it, also known as “offloading hurt”.
  • Understanding vulnerability — the myths you believe about it and where you picked them up.
  • Rumbling with shame – the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that what we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging.
    Working through feelings of loss and longing.
  • Understanding how you manage anxiety – whether you are over-functioning or under-functioning.

Some of the topics we’ll explore:

  • What is empathy and what are empathic misses.
  • How to practice self-compassion, screw it up and circle back.
  • How shame might be keeping you from daring greatly and how to cultivate shame resilience.
  • What your shame armory looks like, tastes likes, smells like and feels. We all use armor to protect ourselves, but that armor is heavy and prevents us from growing, being seen,and being in connection with others.
  • Perfectionism – It is not the same thing as striving for excellence. It is the opposite. Shame is the birthplace of perfectionism.
  • Foreboding joy – No emotion is more terrifying than joy, because we believe if we allow ourselves to feel joy, we are inviting disaster.
  • Numbing – how you might be numbing when you feel vulnerable.
  • Your unwanted identities and triggers.

What’s Included

1 month program

3 x 3 hour group sessions per month,
2 weeks on, 1 week off for integration, and a final week session at the end of month to ensure you have the time and space to transform.

Access to LIVE sessions through Zoom along with homework and reading assignments to keep you focused and growing.
